TRAINING HOURS
Your training covers over 300+ hours of instructor training, virtual classrooms and coaching sessions, structured practise exercises and detailed course work in easy-to-study, ‘bite sized’ modules – all covered in our exceptional DRIVEOnline programme.
You can work through the programme at times that suit you, fitting with your lifestyle, the course allows you to study over-and-over again, until you get it right. As a bonus, we provide you with recommended references books and materials needed and, in addition, up to 76 hours* with a Specialist Trainer.
PART 1
The comprehensive syllabus is broken into easy to follow ‘bite-sized’ sections to help you study, learn and understand, building a comprehensive knowledge of Driving Theory and the DVSA reference material.
Our expert support team is available to provide you with UNLIMITED support as you study for Part-One.
PART 2
The comprehensive syllabus is broken into easy to follow ‘bite-sized’ sections to help you study, learn and understand. Nothing is left to chance as we develop your knowledge with a step-by-step approach using structured video tutorials and visual training systems, created by our experts.
You will build your skills and ability using our structured practical exercises to guide you. To help you our training team provides UNLIMITED tutor support for Part-Two – we are always ready to help you. You can practise at times to suit you, and remember that you can repeat the online work as often as you like – truly unlimited training and support.
Once the DRIVEOnline work is complete, one of our Specialist Trainers will assess your understanding and skill during 8 hours* of bonus in-car training.
PART 3
The comprehensive syllabus is once again broken into easy to follow ‘bite-sized’ step by step sections. Using comprehensive video tutorials, structured practise sessions, step-by-step visual training systems and coaching exercises you will cover: communication skills; route planning; pupil observation and assessment; basic coaching skills; the 17 competencies; fault identification and analysis; level of instruction; control of lesson; question and answer; feedback and encouragement and test preparation.
Once the DRIVEOnline course work is complete, you will have up to 68 bonus* hours with one of our Specialist Trainers to develop and assess your understanding and knowledge.
As part of the preparation for the Part 3 test, we will sponsor you to teach real life learners – getting real practise and earning money!
To help you our training team provides UNLIMITED tutor support for Part-Three – we are always ready to help you. You can practise at times to suit you, and remember that you can repeat DRIVEOnline as often as you like – truly unlimited training and support.
In the unlikely event that you fail a test, we can provide further training with one of our team and in the even more unlikely event that you should fail three attempts, we will provide full training at no extra cost to prepare for the process again.
TRAINEE LICENCE
Once you have passed Part 2 you will start to think about getting on the road and practising teaching.
This will allow you to continue working in your current job while you start teaching real life pupils to get experience, ‘earn as you learn’ and start building your diary.
This is called the Trainee Licence. It is now the best option for preparing for your Part 3 test.
You may have heard it called “the Pink Badge”, “the Pink Triangle”, “the PDI”.
TIMEFRAMES
Your course is designed to take between 4 and 9 months to complete and can be structured around your commitments.
Our training contract gives you 12 months access to your course. This will allow you to start earning on a trainee licence.
When you go on a trainee licence, then you will need to allow for 6 further months before getting fully qualified. (We will of course extend your course to cover your trainee licence!)
But remember, you would normally work as a trainee around you current job anyway.
As the DVSA only allow 2 years before they make you have to start again, this is why it is so important to complete the course inside the 12 month timeframe.
But don’t worry, we give you structured timeframes to maximise progress.
